Leftover Big Game Licenses

When will the leftover list be posted and when do leftover licenses go on sale?

  • The 2020 leftover list should be available at the beginning of August. 
  • Leftover licenses go on sale August 4, 2020 at 9AM MT.

What are leftover licenses?
Leftover licenses are the remaining limited licenses available after the primary and secondary draws are completed.

NEW IN 2020: There will no longer be a leftover draw. The secondary draw replaces the leftover draw.

Lake trout (Photo credit: Wikipedia) New lake trout and splake regulations went into effect on June 14, 2012. The new regulations affect certain ports on Lake Huron. The daily possession limit is three (3) lake trout or splake and the minimum size limit is 15 inches. The possession season is from May 1 through September 30.  Click here  for additional information.  SOUTHEAST LOWER PENINSULA Lake Erie:  Walleye fishing remains steady in Ohio waters, east of Sputnik. Limits are possible in Michigan waters however they are not coming easy. The better spots in Michigan were 21 to 25 feet of water in Brest Bay, off Stony Point and along the Michigan-Ohio line. Buoys 1 and 2 off the River Raisin channel were also producing walleye. A few boats did well for perch in 22 feet of water off Fermi.
