Bring your young hunter to one of Michigan’s Managed Waterfowl Hunt Areas (MWHAs) in November for a memorable hunting experience. Hunters can choose from several dates and locations. Parties with at least one youth will be given priority in the draw at all five MWHAs: Nov. 2 – Fish Point State Wildlife Area (p.m. hunt) in Unionville Nov. 2 – Fennville Farm Unit of the Allegan State Game Area (a.m. hunt) in Fennville Nov. 8 – Harsens Island Managed Hunt Area (p.m. hunt) on Harsens Island Nov. 9 – Shiawassee River State Game Area (p.m. hunt) in St. Charles Nov. 10 – Pointe Mouillee State Game Area (a.m. hunt) in Rockwood Fennville Farm and Pointe Mouillee will host their youth hunts in the morning only.   Oklahoma anglers can fish for free during Free Fishing Days  June 1-2 . During these days, a state fishing license will not be required for anglers to go fishing in Oklahoma, whereas in most other cases a license is required. Additionally, an Oklahoma City fishing permit will not be required for fishing those waters where the permit is normally mandatory.      The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's many communication outlets such as its free news releases, Facebook and Twitter accounts and weekly fishing reports are useful starting points for finding fishing information. Every week the fishing report provides a listing of lakes and the current state of angling success at that location. Oklahoma sunrise (Photo credit: Warren Brown Photography ) Outdoor Oklahoma  magazine is calling on the people who experience the state's wildlife and outdoor heritage firsthand to send in their best digital photos showcasing the state's wildlife, landscapes, scenic and other outdoor imagery.             The annual "Readers' Photography Showcase" is featured in the July/Aug issue of the official magazine of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Submissions are being accepted through March 31. Archery (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The National Oklahoma Archery in the Schools Program is heating up as nearly 1,200 students from across the state prepare to compete March 28 at the annual OKNASP state shoot at the State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The students qualified for the state shoot by competing in regional archery events held in February, in which more than 2,400 students participated. About 310 schools across Oklahoma participate in the Oklahoma National Archery in the Schools Program (OKNASP), and about 70 of those will bring students to compete in the state shoot after a season of practice and competition in their respective schools. "Coaches have told me time and again that this program has helped every child see success. Image via Wikipedia JEFFERSON CITY ,  Mo. , Aug. 24, 2011 – The music and environmental message of Wildheart will be heard again in 12  Missouri  state parks and historic sites, thanks to a grant from the Missouri Arts Council.    Wildheart is composed of Jan and George Syrigos, both Emmy award- winning educators and entertainers who bring a strong science message to young audiences as they explore wildlife, habitats and natural history. Their performance combines original music with motion and media to deliver a conservation message about the natural world. Earlier this year, a Missouri Arts Council grant partially funded performances by Wildheart in seven state parks.
