Great Lakes Temperature Map Click on the links below to jump to the report section that interests you most: Southeast Lower Peninsula Southwest Lower Peninsula Northeast Lower Peninsula Northwest Lower Peninsula Upper Peninsula River anglers are out however others are getting their ice fishing gear ready to go as they wait for the transition from open water to ice fishing. Some of the lakes are starting to get skim ice however there is no safe ice yet. SOUTHEAST LOWER PENINSULA Lake Erie:  Bluegills are being caught in the Metro Park Marina. For perch, try near Fermi and Stony Point. Huron River:  Continues to produce steelhead. Detroit River:  Walleye are being caught in the lower Trenton Channel. Try hand-lining with rapalas or long-lining with husky jerks. Perch anglers are targeting Rat Island, Sugar Island and Stony Point. Those heading out for the opening day of gun season are reminded to take along a fishing rod! There is no better time of year to enjoy the opportunities of “blast and cast”. Hunt during the day then target steelhead and whitefish in the evening. Already got your deer? Remember late fall and early winter can offer some prime fishing on the inland lakes. Fishing is in-between seasons so the weekly updates will continue to be slow until ice fishing gets started. Steelhead fishing should be good this week with the warmer temperatures. Those looking for ice will have to wait a bit longer however this is a good time to get your ice fishing gear ready to go. SOUTHEAST LOWER PENINSULA Lake Erie: Is producing walleye in Brest Bay. Anglers are trolling body baits. Those casting off Sterling State Park have caught walleye off the rocks. Bluegills were caught in the Metro Park Marina. Huron River: Is producing the occasional steelhead. Catch rates will improve once the water levels come up. Detroit River: Has good muskie fishing. Perch are being caught in the marina at Grosse Ile and off the south end of the Cross Dike. Lake St Clair: The die-hard boat anglers are still out chasing muskie. Catch rates have been good and should continue until the season closes on Saturday, December 15. Perch have been caught in the canals...
