South Dakota Elk, Duck, and Goose Hunting News

The South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks Commission is working on or has finalized a variety of goose hunting, duck hunting, and elk hunting seasons.  Most of the information can be found at http://gfp.sd.gov/agency/commission/default.aspx.

A variety of elk seasons will be finalized at the commission's April 7 and 8 meeting.  If you have comments, they can be directed to wildinfo@state.sd.us.

The commission will also finalize goose seasons at this same meeting and comments can be directed to the email link above.

Weekly Fishing Report Michigan Department of Natural Resources June 21, 2012

Lake trout (Photo credit: Wikipedia) New lake trout and splake regulations went into effect on June 14, 2012. The new regulations affect certain ports on Lake Huron. The daily possession limit is three (3) lake trout or splake and the minimum size limit is 15 inches. The possession season is from May 1 through September 30.  Click here  for additional information.  SOUTHEAST LOWER PENINSULA Lake Erie:  Walleye fishing remains steady in Ohio waters, east of Sputnik. Limits are possible in Michigan waters however they are not coming easy. The better spots in Michigan were 21 to 25 feet of water in Brest Bay, off Stony Point and along the Michigan-Ohio line. Buoys 1 and 2 off the River Raisin channel were also producing walleye. A few boats did well for perch in 22 feet of water off Fermi.
