Oklahoma Fishing Report for 12/17/2015


CENTRAL
 
Hefner: December 15. Elevation above normal, water 46-52 and murky. Crappie good on minnows and jigs along riprap and around docks. Walleye fair on jerk baits and sassy shad along riprap. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on grubs and lipless baits around points and inlets. Channel catfish fair on grubs along riprap. Report submitted by Vince Mesis, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.
 
Overholser: December 15. Elevation below normal, water murky to muddy. Crappie fair on jigs in pink, chartreuse and black around docks and brush structure. Blue and catfish fair on live bait, cut bait and chicken liver in the main lake. Drum being caught around docks and brush structure. NORTHEAST
 
Ft. Gibson: December 14. Elevation above normal, water 54 and stained. Crappie fair on tube jigs and live bait at 15-20 ft. along riprap, rocks and docks. Blue catfish fair on cut bait and shad on bottom in the main lake and river channel. Report submitted by Rick Stafford of Wagoner.
 
Kaw: December 14. Elevation 4 ft. above normal, water stained. Crappie good at 20 ft. along riprap and bridge pilings. Report submitted by Larry Green, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Keystone: December 15. Elevation above normal, water 55. Blue catfish good on cut bait along channels. Report submitted by Karlin Bailey, game warden stationed in Creek County.
 
Lower Illinois: December 13. Elevation above normal, water 55 and mostly clear. Trout slow on PowerBait along tailwaters and eddies. Due to high water levels at Tenkiller Lake, the dam has been releasing large amounts of water. Stocking has been paused until water levels have returned to normal. Perry CCC: December 14. Elevation normal, water murky. Trout good on PowerBait and Super Dupers along shorelines. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.
 
Sooner: December 14. Elevation normal, water clear. Striped bass hybrids and striped bass fair on live bait and sassy shad in the discharge and main lake. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.
 
SOUTHEAST
 
Arbuckle: December 15. Elevation normal, water 55 and very stained. Largemouth bass being caught on crankbaits off main lake points. White bass chasing shad early and late evenings and on jigs and spoons in deep water along flats. Report submitted by Jack Melton. 

Blue River: December 15. Elevation above normal, water 55 and clear. Trout excellent on PowerBait, in-line spinnerbaits, spoons, woolly buggers, Near Deere and Frenchies at 2-6 ft. along channels, sandbars, below riffles and breaks in current. Stocked 2,400 rainbow trout on December 10. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait and worms at 4-6 ft. along channels, rocks and deeper pools around current. Report submitted by Matt Gamble, biologist at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.
 
Eufaula: December 13. Elevation 1 1/2 ft. above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass slow on plastic baits at 4-10 ft. around docks and points. White bass fair on jigs at 4-12 ft. below the dam. Blue catfish good on live shad and cut bait at 5-22 ft. along channels and in the main lake. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 5-20 ft. along riprap and docks. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.  

Robert S. Kerr: December 13. Elevation above normal, water murky. Crappie good on minnows at 15-20 ft. around standing timber and creek channels. Largemouth bass slow on clown colored jerk baits at 10 ft. along rocks and riprap. Blue and channel catfish excellent on shad at 10 ft. below the dam and along creek channels. Report submitted by J.D. Stauffer, game warden stationed in Haskell County. 

Texoma: December 12. Elevation above normal, water 58 and clear in the south and murky in the north. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair on plastic baits, jigs and crankbaits at 5-10 ft. around brush structure, creek channels and riprap. Striped and white bass good on live shad, sassy shad and pencil poppers at 10-20 ft. below the dam, along river channels and coves. Channel and blue catfish good on minnows, worms and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. below the dam, along riprap and creek channels. Crappie, sunfish and white bass fair on minnows and tube jigs at 5-15 ft. around docks, riprap and creek channels. Paddlefish fair snagging at 10-20 ft. below the dam. SOUTHWEST
 
Foss: December 15. Elevation 7 ft. below normal, water 48. Striped bass hybrids fair on slabs while jigging. Walleye slow on live bait. Catfish good on liver and stinkbait. White bass slow. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B & K Bait House.
 
Tom Steed: December 15. Elevation above normal, water 48 and murky. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait, stinkbait and shad on bottom along flats. Report submitted by David Smith, game warden stationed in Kiowa County.
 
Waurika: December 14. Elevation normal, water 63. Crappie fair on jigs around brush structure. White bass fair on minnows and flukes around points and shorelines. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait, stinkbait and shad around points and shorelines. Report submitted by Chris Stover, game warden stationed in Stephens County.
