Oklahoma Fishing Report 8/27/2015

CENTRAL

Arcadia: August 25. Elevation normal, water 84. Largemouth bass slow on plastic baits at 6-10 ft. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut shad in and around the channel. White bass fair on white rooster tails while surfacing. Report submitted by Mark Murray, game warden stationed in Oklahoma and Canadian counties.

Draper: August 23. Elevation below normal, water 78 and stained. Largemouth slow on crankbaits and plastic baits around points. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs around docks. Channel and blue catfish slow on cut bait and punch bait around points and riprap. Report submitted by Chad Strang, game warden stationed in Cleveland County.

Hefner: August 24. Elevation normal, water 83-86 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 6-12 ft. around docks and shorelines. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on lipless baits, grubs and gay blades at 6-10 ft. along shorelines. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and plastic baits. Channel and blue catfish good on punch bait, dough bait and cut bait at 20 ft. along riprap. Walleye slow on crankbaits in the main lake. Report submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.

Overholser: August 25. Elevation normal, water murky to muddy. Striped bass hybrids slow on minnows and jigs along creek channels. Blue catfish slow on cut shad, chicken liver and live bait in the main lake and along shorelines. All fishing fair in the discharge area for all species. Report submitted by Vince Mesis, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.

Thunderbird: August 23. Elevation below normal, water 78 and stained. Largemouth bass and saugeye slow on crankbaits and plastic baits around points and creek channels. Channel and blue catfish slow on cut bait and stinkbait in the river channel and points. Crappie and white bass slow on minnows and jigs around docks. Wes Watkins: August 24. Elevation normal, water clear. The south boat ramp is open. Crappie slow on minnows around brush structure and standing timber. Channel and blue catfish fair on chicken liver and worms around points and riprap. Report submitted by Mike France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.

NORTHEAST

Bell Cow: August 24. Elevation normal, water murky. Crappie slow on jigs, PowerBait and minnows around docks and brush structure. Channel catfish slow on minnows, worms and chicken liver. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Birch: August 24. Elevation normal, water 80s and clear. Channel catfish, crappie and striped bass hybrids slow on jigs, worms and cut bait at 8-12 ft. around docks. Report submitted by Cody Plunkett, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Chandler: August 24. Elevation normal, water murky. Crappie slow on minnows around docks. Channel catfish slow on chicken liver around docks. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Copan: August 23. Elevation normal, water 80s and murky. Channel, blue and flathead catfish fair on worms, shad and sunfish at 7-9 ft. below the dam, tailwater and river channel. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Eucha: August 24. Elevation normal, water 80. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and plastic baits along coves, points and shorelines. Channel catfish fair on cut bait and shad along flats and shallows. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-15 ft. under Highway 59/10 bridge, around brush structure and docks. Bluegill good on jigs, worms and crickets along shorelines and weed beds. Report submitted by Kody Moore, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

Grand: August 23. Elevation normal, water 85 and slightly murky. Blue and channel catfish good on shad and cut bait at 15 ft. below the dam and the main lake. White bass good on 1-ounce bendable Go Go minnows below the dam, the main lake, Sailboat Bridge and islands. Report submitted by Marni Loftis, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

Hudson: August 23. Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water 74. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait and live shad at 5-12 ft. below the dam, the river channel and riprap. Largemouth bass good on buzz baits, topwater lures, spinnerbaits and plastic baits at 3-7 ft. along riprap, standing timber and weed beds. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes counties.

Hulah: August 23. Elevation normal, water 80s and murky. Channel, blue and flathead catfish slow on sunfish, worms and shad at 7-9 ft. below the dam, tailwater and river channel. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Keystone: August 25. Elevation above normal, water 84. Blue catfish good on cut bait along channels and below the dam. White bass fair on small lures around points. Report submitted by Karlin Bailey, game warden stationed in Creek County.

Lower Illinois: August 23. Elevation normal, water 70-75 and dingy. Trout slow on PowerBait below the dam. Stocking of trout has been suspended due to high water temperatures and low oxygen levels. Little to no water releases have been occurring. Report submitted by Jeremy Bersche, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

McMurtry: August 25. Elevation normal, water 80 and semi-clear. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 10 ft. around docks, brush structure and spillway. White bass fair on crankbaits at 4 ft. along sandbars, the main lake and points. Report submitted by Jared Avilez.

Oologah: August 23. Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water 83 and murky. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 6-12 ft. around brush structure. White bass fair trolling crankbaits at 5-15 ft. along flats. Blue and channel catfish fair on juglines baited with cut bait and shad at 15-25 ft. along flats. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Rogers County.

Skiatook: August 25. Elevation normal, water mid 80s and clear. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-20 ft. around brush structure. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Sooner: August 24. Elevation normal, water clear. Striped bass hybrids, striped bass and white bass slow on live shad in the main lake. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.

Spavinaw: August 24. Elevation normal, water 81. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures, spinnerbaits and crankbaits along coves, points and weed beds. Channel catfish fair on cut bait and shad along flats and shallows. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around docks, brush structure and shorelines. Bluegill fair on crickets, worms and jigs along shallows, weed beds and shorelines. Report submitted by Kody Moore, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

NORTHWEST

Canton: August 22. Elevation 3 ft. below normal, water clear. Channel catfish good on crawfish, worms and shad at 8-15 ft. in the main lake. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.

Ft. Supply: August 25. Elevation below normal, water clear. Channel catfish slow on chicken liver in the main lake. All fishing slow. Report submitted by Mark Reichenberger, game warden stationed in Woodward County.

SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: August 23. Elevation normal, water 86 and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass slow on topwater lures early morning and fair on crankbaits in shad color around rocks, the main lake and points. Crappie slow on minnows, jigs and small lures at 16 ft. around docks, the main lake and brush structure. White bass fair on lipless baits, crankbaits and slabs at 10 ft. along coves, points and the main lake. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Eufaula: August 23. Elevation normal, water stained. Largemouth bass fair on flukes, plastic baits and lipless baits at 2-15 ft. around docks, riprap and points. White bass good on slabs and tube jigs at 5-20 ft. below the dam, along flats and bridges. Blue catfish good on shad, stinkbait and punch bait at 5-20 ft. below the dam, along the river channel and flats. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 8-20 ft. around brush structure, riprap and bridges. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Konawa: August 23. Elevation normal, water 82 and clear. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits, jerk baits and sassy shad at 8-14 ft. around points, weed beds and coves. Channel catfish fair on hot dogs, shad, worms and punch bait at 6-18 ft. in the main lake, inlet and points. White bass slow on hair jigs, tube jigs, spoons and crankbaits at 10-14 ft. in the main lake, discharge and creek channels. Robert S. Kerr: August 23. Elevation normal, water slightly stained. Blue and flathead catfish slow on juglines baited with shad and punch bait at 6-8 ft. in the main lake and creek channels. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures at 5 ft. around points and weed beds. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs at 8 ft. around standing timber and brush structure. Texoma: August 23. Elevation 2 ft. above normal, water 84 and mostly clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on topwater lures, plastic baits and crankbaits from the surface to 20 ft. along shorelines, creek channels and coves. Striped and white bass good on cut bait, live bait and topwater lures at 10-20 ft. below the dam, in the river channel and coves. Channel and blue catfish good on cut bait, stinkbait and live shad at 5-20 ft. below the dam, along riprap and creek channels. Crappie and sunfish good on minnows, tube jigs and small lures at 5-15 ft. around docks, creek channels and brush structure. Report submitted by Danny Clubb, game warden stationed in Bryan County.

SOUTHWEST

Ellsworth: August 23. Elevation above normal, water 82 and murky. Blue and channel catfish slow on cut bait, shad and punch bait around points and rocks. Report submitted by Mike Carroll, game warden stationed in Comanche County.

Foss: August 24. Elevation 5 ft. below normal with gates closed, water high 70s and clear. Catfish good on trotlines baited with live bait. Striped bass hybrids fair on lures and live bait. Walleye slow. Crappie slow. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B&K Bait House.

Ft. Cobb: August 24. Elevation normal, water 79. Saugeye fair on worms and jigs along rocks and the main lake. Channel, blue and flathead catfish slow on chicken liver and stinkbait in the main lake. Report submitted by John Grellner, game warden stationed Cotton County.

Lawtonka:  August 23. Elevation above normal, water 83 and clear. Saugeye and white bass slow on crankbaits and small lures in the main lake. Report submitted by Mike Carroll, game warden stationed in Comanche County.
