Free family fishing clinics are available throughout the summer. The clinics are hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation as part of the Aquatic Resource Education Program. Participants will learn about conservation, knot tying, casting, fish identification and will fish for one hour. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on grubs, small spinnerbaits and blade baits at 4-8 ft. along windy shorelines. Channel and blue catfish good on punch bait, cut bait and worms at 6-20 ft. along rocky shorelines. Crappie fair on jigs at 12-20 ft. along the dam. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on live shad at 15-30 ft. around the Hwy 20 Bridge. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits in creeks and coves. Elevation 1/4 ft. above normal, water 77 and clear in the main lake and murky in the creeks. Algae still present on surface on calm days. Bass being caught on topwater and on football jigs at 12-15 ft. early and on crankbaits during the day. Crappie being caught on blue/white and chartreuse jigs at 15-25 ft. on brush piles and good at the dock at dawn. White bass being caught on small crankbaits and wiggle-tailed grubs while chasing shad near the islands and out from the dam in open water. Report submitted by Jack Melton.Blue River: June 6. Elevation normal, water 78 and clear. Smallmouth and spotted bass fair on soft plastics and small crankbaits around structure in larger pools. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, worms and minnows around current in larger pools. Flathead catfish fair on live bait at night around rocks. Channel and blue catfish good on live bait, worms and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. from Johnson Creek to the south. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 5-15 ft. around underwater brush and riprap. Sunfish good on worms, shrimp and tiny tube jigs at 5-10 ft. around the fishing docks and riprap. Paddlefish fair below the dam while generating.
