Oklahoma FISHING REPORT FOR JUNE 27, 2012

CENTRAL

Arcadia: June 24. White bass fair to good on spoons and jigs around points. Channel catfish fair to good on punch bait and chicken liver early and late. Report submitted by Chance Whiteley, game warden stationed in Oklahoma County.

Hefner: June 25. Elevation normal and dropping, water 78-86 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on jigs and crankbaits at 6-15 ft. along rocky shorelines. Smallmouth bass slow on jigs and crankbaits at 6-15 ft. along rocky shorelines. White bass and striped bass hybrids good trolling crankbaits at 8-14 ft. along rocky shorelines. Channel and blue catfish fair on punch bait, cut bait and worms at 10-20 ft. along rocky shorelines. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 12-20 ft. along rocky shorelines. Walleye fair trolling crankbaits at 8-14 ft. and drifting night crawlers at 6-10 ft. along windy shorelines and long points. Report  submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.

Overholser: June 24. Elevation normal, water murky. Catfish slow on stinkbait and blood bait on bottom. Striped bass hybrids fair on minnows and jigs off riprap areas early morning. Report submitted by David Rempe, game warden stationed in Oklahoma and Canadian counties.

Thunderbird: June 24. Elevation 2 3/4 ft. below normal, water clear. Crappie fair on jigs at 5-8 ft. and on minnows around structure. Channel catfish fair on cut bait and stinkbait. White bass good on jigs, sassy shad and medium-diving crankbaits on humps and drop-offs. NORTHEAST

Bell Cow: June 24. Elevation normal, water 82 and murky. Bass fair on plastic baits and spinnerbaits. Catfish fair on chicken liver, dough bait and shad. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Birch: June 24. Elevation normal, water 80 and murky. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits around standing timber. Channel catfish good on chicken liver and worms. Crappie fair on jigs at 10-15 ft. Report submitted by David Clay, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Carl Blackwell: June 24. Elevation 6 ft. below normal, water 80. Crappie fair on jigs. Catfish good on various baits. Saugeye fair trolling. Report submitted by Jon Cunningham, game warden stationed in Payne County.

Chandler: June 24. Elevation normal, water 82 and murky. Bass fair on plastic baits. Crappie good on spoons off the dam and fair on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Copan: June 26. Elevation normal, water 80s and clearing. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs at 3-5 ft. from boats around the lake and from the new fishing dock at Copan Point. Catfish good on cut shad, sunfish and worms below the dam. Eucha: June 26. Elevation 1 3/4 ft. below normal, water 85 and dingy. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 12-14 ft. around brush and structure. Largemouth bass fair on deep diving crankbaits. Catfish fair on juglines baited with cut shad. Bluegill good on crickets and worms. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.

Ft. Gibson: June26. Elevation normal, water 85 and clear. Largemouth bass good on plastic worms and Biffle Bugs at 5-20 ft. White bass good on rooster tails and small crankbaits at 5-10 ft. on the windy points. Report submitted by Rick Stafford in Wagoner.

Greenleaf: June 25. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits along shorelines, creek channels and brush structure. Catfish fair on fresh cut bait on bottom at the spillway. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at fishing docks and brush structure. Hudson: June 25. Elevation normal. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits early and late. Channel and blue catfish good on juglines baited with cut bait. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes counties.

Hulah: June 26. Elevation normal, water clearing. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs at 6-8 ft. Catfish fair on cut shad and worms below the dam. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Kaw: June 25. Elevation normal, water 89 and clearing  on the lower end of the lake and murky in the upper end. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on the Ponca hump and sandy beach by the dam. White bass good on spoons, rattletraps and slabs below both bridges that cross the lake. These fish are easily caught trolling; once located you can anchor and cast to the schools. Blue catfish good on any live or fresh cut bait at 10-20 ft. on the entire lake. Shad  are easily caught in the Coon Creek area with a cast net. Noodlers are having good luck around the rocky areas of the lake. Keystone: June 25. Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water 80. White bass fair trolling and off points. Report submitted by Karlin Bailey, game warden stationed in Creek County.

Lower Illinois: June 26. Elevation normal, water 46 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures all along the river. White bass fair on jigs at 1-2 ft. all along the river. Striped bass fair on jigs at 1-3 ft. all along the river. Channel catfish excellent on cut bait on bottom all along the river. Crappie fair on jigs at 1-3 ft. all along the river. Trout excellent fly-fishing the surface, on rooster tails at 1-2 ft. and on Power Bait on bottom from the dam to Gore Landing. Report submitted by D. Tracy, Town of Gore.

Skiatook: June 24. Elevation 4 1/2 below normal, water low 80s. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair drifting live shad below the dam. Report submitted by David Clay, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Spavinaw: June 26. Elevation slightly below normal, water 85 and dingy. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits. Bluegill good on crickets and worms. Report submitted by Dwight Moore, City of Tulsa.

Tenkiller: June 25. Elevation 1 ft. below normal, water low 80s and clear. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures early and spinnerbaits or crankbaits later. Catfish fair on flip-flops baited with cut bait at 20-40 ft. Crappie fair on minnows at 15-20 ft. around docks or brush. Sunfish good on nightcrawlers around docks or in the back of coves. Webbers Falls: June 25. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on buzz baits and crankbaits along riprap, brush structure and bridges. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and liver along mudflats and drifting on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs along brush structure and bridges. NORTHWEST

Canton: June 23. Elevation 6 1/2 ft. below normal, water clear. White bass and striped bass hybrids good drifting slabs and trolling crankbaits near drop-offs. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.

SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: June 23. Elevation slightly below normal, water being released. Algae still present on calm days. Bass being caught on spinnerbaits and chug baits early and on crankbaits and Carolina-rigged lizards during the rest of day. White bass being caught on spoons, small crankbaits and wiggle-tailed grubs in open water up all three arms. Crappie being caught on minnows and small jigs off docks early and on chartreuse jigs at 25-35 ft. around brush piles. Channel catfish being caught on dough bait up Guy Sandy arm. Blue River: June 25. Elevation normal, water 86 and clear. Smallmouth and spotted bass good on topwater lures early and late. Channel catfish good on chicken livers, minnows and cut bait around current in larger pools. Flathead catfish fair on live bait in deeper holes at night. Sunfish excellent on grasshoppers, crickets and mealworms in slack water areas. Broken Bow: June 24. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on soft plastics around structure and rocky points after dark. Catfish good on juglines and trotlines baited with cut bait. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 20-25 ft. around structure in the upper end. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Eufaula: June 24. Elevation 1 ft. below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on Carolina rigs around deep points and on crankbaits and spinnerbaits along rocky areas. White bass fair on topwater lures along flats early and trolling the flats. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad drifting the shallow flats and rocky areas. Hugo: June 24. Elevation 2 1/2 ft. below normal, water 77. Catfish fair on trotlines and juglines baited with goldfish and cut shad. Blue catfish fair on cut bait below the dam. Report submitted by Jay Harvey, game warden stationed in Choctaw and Bryan counties.

Konawa: June 24. Elevation normal, water 92 and clear. Largemouth bass good on plastic worms and topwater lures at 5-10 ft. around points and weed beds early and late. Channel catfish good on shad at 5-10 ft. in south coves. Report submitted by Daryl Howser, game warden stationed in Seminole County.

Lower Mt. Fork: June 24. Water low 70s. Rainbows good on Power Bait and corn in the Blue Zone. Walleye and rainbows good on rooster tails and grubs near the power house. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

McGee Creek: June 24. Elevation 1/2 ft. above normal, water 85 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on Carolina-rigged soft plastic baits and H & H spinnerbaits at 2-12 ft. and fair on shad colored topwater lures schooling in open water early and late. Crappie fair to good on minnows at 8-12 ft. over cedar brush piles. Report submitted by Larry Luman, game warden stationed in Atoka County.

Murray: June 24. Elevation 3-4 ft. below normal, water 82 and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on various baits. White bass good trolling and on topwater lures when schooling early and late. Channel catfish good on worms, minnows and stinkbait along rocks and riprap. Pine Creek: June 24. Elevation below normal, water clear. Bass good on spinnerbaits in shallow water around secondary points. Crappie good on minnows near brush. Catfish great on jug lines baited with cut shad. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Robert S. Kerr: June 25. Largemouth and spotted bass good on topwater lures, spinnerbaits and buzz baits and good on swim baits and crankbaits at 2-10 ft. around banks and grass beds. White bass fair on minnows under bridges. Channel and blue catfish excellent on trotlines and juglines baited with cut bait at 12-20 ft. close to creek and river channels. Sardis: June 25. Elevation 1/2 ft. below normal, water 76 and clear to murky. Largemouth bass fair to good on topwater lures, swim baits and plastic worms. White bass fair trolling at 8-9 ft. Channel and blue catfish good on cut bait and dead minnows. Flathead catfish fair on live bait and sunfish. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 6-15 ft. Texoma: June 24. Elevation 1 3/4 ft. below normal, water 78 and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on crankbaits, plastic worms and surface lures at 5-15 ft. around the points and riprap. Striped and white bass good on live bait, topwater lures and sassy shad at 10-20 ft. from Alberta Creek to Burns Run. Channel and blue catfish good on live bait, worms and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. from the Washita River to Catfish Bay. Crappie fair to good on minnows and jigs at 5-15 ft. around the fish attractors and underwater brush piles and riprap. Sunfish good on worms, shrimp and small tube jigs at 5-10 ft. around the fishing docks. Report submitted by Danny Clubb, game warden stationed in Bryan County.

Wister: June 24. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and buzz baits and good on topwater lures early and late. Crappie good on jigs, white tail grubs and minnows. Catfish good on juglines baited with cut shad, sunfish and liver and excellent on night crawlers. SOUTHWEST

Altus-Lugert: June 24. Elevation 23 1/2 ft. below normal and falling slowly. Crappie slow on minnows off of rocks across from Twin Peaks. Catfish slow in the lake. Report submitted by Sue Hokanson.

Ft. Cobb: June 26. Elevation 1 1/2 ft. below normal, water 80 and murky. Striped bass hybrids good on crankbaits. Channel catfish good on cut shad. Report submitted by Tyler Howser, game warden stationed in Caddo County.

Waurika: June 26. Elevation 6 1/2 ft. below normal, water murky. Striped bass hybrids slow to fair on shad drifting or trolling. Channel and blue catfish slow to fair on cut shad and punch bait.
