Oklahoma weekly fishing report

CENTRAL

Arcadia: August 16. Elevation normal, water 83 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and shallow diving crankbaits. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 11-14 ft. around marked brush piles and rocky points near the overlook. Channel and blue catfish fair on crawfish and night crawlers near the channel. Draper: August 14. Elevation below normal, water 83 and stained. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs around standing timber and brush structure. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits and spinnerbaits around points and weed beds. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut bait and punch bait around points and along riprap. Hefner: August 15. Elevation dropping, water 88. Crappie fair on minnows, jigs and small lures at 10-20 ft. around docks, points and in the main lake. White bass good on Alabama rigs, grubs, sassy shad, slabs and gay blades at 2-20 ft. in coves, along riprap and the river channel. Flathead, blue and channel catfish good on chicken liver, minnows, worms and punch bait at 2-12 ft. along flats, riprap and the inlet. Walleye slow on jerk bait, worms, spoons, grubs and gay blades at 6-20 ft. in the main lake, around points and along riprap. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures at 2-12 ft. around points and riprap. Report submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.

Overholser: August 15. Elevation dropping, water murky to muddy. White bass and striped bass hybrids slow on shrimp in the discharge and in the creek under the bridge. Channel and blue catfish slow on shrimp in the discharge and in the creek under the bridge. Flathead catfish slow on live bait in the main lake. Sunfish and bluegill slow on worms along shorelines. Thunderbird: August 14. Elevation normal, water 84 and stained. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures around points and along weed beds. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut bait and stinkbait around points and along riprap. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs around standing timber and brush structure. NORTHEAST

Bell Cow: August 14. Elevation normal, water 89 and murky. Crappie slow on minnows at 8-12 ft. around brush structure. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Birch: August 15. Elevation normal, water 80s and clear. Channel and blue catfish fair on chicken liver and live bait in coves and along shorelines. Striped bass hybrids fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in coves, around docks and shorelines. Report submitted by Ryan Walker, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Chandler: August 14. Elevation normal, water 89 and murky. Largemouth bass slow on spinnerbaits along shorelines. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Copan: August 14. Elevation normal, water 70s. Channel, blue and flathead catfish fair on chicken liver, shad and worms at 4-8 ft. in coves, around rocks and river channel. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Eucha: August 14. Elevation normal, water 84 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits and jigs around points and in the main lake. White bass good on topwater lures and crankbaits in the main lake and the river channel. Channel catfish fair on cut bait and shad along flats and in the main lake. Sunfish good on crickets and jigs along weed beds and docks. Report submitted by Kody Moore, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

Ft. Gibson: August 16. Elevation normal, water 87 and stained. Crappie fair on minnows and tube jigs at 10-20 ft. around brush structure and docks. White bass good trolling in-line spinnerbaits, small lures and jerk baits at 3-12 ft. around points and in the main lake. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits and crawfish at 5-15 ft. around points and along riprap. Blue catfish good on shad and cut bait at 20-35 ft. along the river channel and in the main lake. Grand: August 15. Elevation normal, water 89 and slightly stained. Crappie fair on minnows at 10 ft. around brush structure and docks. White bass good on GoGo minnows at 15-20 ft. in the main lake and around islands. Blue and channel catfish good drifting shad at 10-40 ft. below the dam and in the main lake. Greenleaf: August 16. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits, spoons, crankbaits and worms along shorelines, moss beds and brush structure. Catfish fair to good on fresh cut bait on bottom. Crappie fair at 12-18 ft. along fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

Hudson: August 15. Elevation normal, water 78. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait and shad at 6-13 ft. below the dam, at the tailwater and in the main lake. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, topwater lures, spinnerbaits and plastic baits at 4-8 ft. around brush structure, weed beds and points. White bass fair on crankbaits, small lures and sassy shad at 8-18 ft. in the main lake. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Mayes County

Hulah: August 14. Elevation normal, water 70s. Channel, blue and flathead catfish fair on live shad, worms and chicken liver at 4-8 ft. in coves and along riprap. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Kaw: August 16. Elevation normal, water 84 and stained. Blue and channel catfish excellent on cut bait, stinkbait and shad at 2-10 ft. along flats, in the main lake and below the dam. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on lipless baits, topwater lures, spoons and slabs from the surface to 15 ft. around points and in the main lake. Paddlefish slow below the dam. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-18 ft. along riprap and bridges. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.

Keystone: August 15. Elevation above normal, water 84. Blue catfish good on cut bait along channels. White bass fair on small lures around points. Report submitted by Karlin Bailey, game warden stationed in Creek County.

Lower Illinois: August 14. Elevation normal, water 60 and clear. Trout good on PowerBait below the dam, in the river channel and at Watts at the head of deep holes. Report submitted by Jeremy Bersche, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

Oologah: August 14. Elevation normal, water 82 and murky. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-15 ft. around brush structure and standing timber. White bass and walleye fair trolling crankbaits at 6-12 ft. along flats. Blue and channel catfish fair on juglines baited with cut bait, shad and sunfish at 15-25 ft. along flats near the main channel. Blue catfish fair on cut bait and shad on bottom below the dam. Skiatook: August 15. Elevation below normal, water low to mid 80s and clear. Striped bass hybrids fair on topwater lures and crankbaits in the main lake early morning and late evening. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Sooner: August 15. Elevation normal, water clear. Water is still being pumped into the lake. Striped bass hybrids and striped bass slow on live shad and slabs in the main lake. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.

Spavinaw: August 14. Elevation normal, water 85 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in the main lake, around points and brush structure. White bass good on crankbaits and topwater lures in the main lake. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around brush structure and docks. Bluegill good on jigs and worms around brush structure, weed beds and docks. Report submitted by Kody Moore, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

Tenkiller: August 15. Elevation normal, water high 80s and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on plastic baits and jigs at 15-20 ft. around brush structure, points and in coves. Channel, blue and flathead catfish good drifting cut bait and worms at 10-20 ft. and on stinkbait and dough bait at 17-23 ft. along flats and around points. Sunfish and bluegill fair on jigs and worms at 10-20 ft. around docks and along shorelines. Report submitted by Monte Brooks, Cookson.

Webbers Falls: August 16. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and topwater baits along shorelines and brush structure. Catfish good drifting cut bait on bottom. NORTHWEST

Canton: August 13. Elevation normal, water 82 and clear. White bass fair on crankbaits and slabs at 8-15 ft. in the main lake. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.

Ft. Supply: August 16. Elevation below normal, water murky. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver and cut bait in the main lake and at the river mouth. Report submitted by Mark Reichenberger, game warden stationed in Woodward County.

SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: August 13. Elevation normal, water 78. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass slow on flukes, jigs, worms and shaky head lures at 5 ft. in coves, the main lake and around rocks. Crappie, sunfish and bluegill fair on hair jigs, jigs and spoons at 25 ft. along creek channels, brush structure and docks. Channel catfish slow on dough bait, shrimp, chicken liver and minnows at 29 ft. along the river channel and in the main lake. White bass good on midges, minnows, lipless baits and crankbaits at 8-10 ft. around rocks, in coves and around docks. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Broken Bow: August 14. Elevation below normal, water 85. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on flukes, plastic baits and Alabama rigs at 15-20 ft. around brush structure, standing timber and points. Channel, blue and flathead catfish fair on chicken liver, worms, punch bait and cut bait at 5-15 ft. along channels and in coves. Eufaula: August 15. Elevation below normal, water good. White bass good on Alabama rigs, jerk baits and jigs in the main lake and in coves. Striped bass good on flukes, shad and hair jigs below the dam. Blue catfish fair on shad and jigs below the dam, around points and along riprap. Hugo: August 14. Elevation normal, water 85. Crappie fair on minnows at 15-25 ft. along creek channels and standing timber. Report submitted by Jay Harvey, game warden stationed in Choctaw and Bryan counties.

Konawa: August 15. Elevation below normal, water 94 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on Alabama rigs, sassy shad and plastic baits at 6-12 ft. in coves, the inlet and along weed beds. White bass fair on crankbaits, worms, live shad and shad at 8-6 ft. around points and in the main lake. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, worms, stinkbait and punch bait at 6-14 ft. along channels, creek channels and around points. Lower Mountain Fork: August 14. Elevation above normal, water 72 and clear. Trout good on caddis flies and worms below the dam, along shallows. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

McGee Creek: August 14. Elevation normal, water 78 and clear. Crappie fair on minnows at 16-24 ft. around brush structure. Largemouth and spotted bass slow on plastic baits at 6-12 ft. around points, weed beds and rocks. Report submitted by Larry Luman, game warden stationed in Atoka County.

Murray: August 16. Elevation normal, water 83 and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on flukes, plastic baits and buzz baits from the surface to 25 ft. around points, weed beds and rocks. White bass fair on jigs, sassy shad, crankbaits and topwater lures from the surface to 20 ft. around points and in the main lake. Channel catfish slow on chicken liver, worms, shrimp and punch bait at 5-15 ft. along riprap and creek channels. Sunfish fair on jigs, worms and small lures at 4-12 ft. along weed beds and docks. Pine Creek: August 14. Elevation below normal, water 86 and murky. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits at 6-10 ft. around points and standing timber. Crappie good on jigs at 4-8 ft. around brush structure and creek channels. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver and worms along the river channel and in the main lake. Robert S. Kerr: August 14. Elevation normal, water murky. Blue, flathead and channel catfish good on cut bait, shad and live bait along the river channel. Report submitted by Allen Couch, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

Sardis: August 13. Elevation below normal, water 88. Crappie fair on minnows, hair jigs and tube jigs at 11-16 ft. around brush structure, standing timber and points. Largemouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures at 5-16 ft. around brush structure, along shorelines, weed beds, rocks and points. Blue, flathead and channel catfish good on cut bait, shad, sunfish and live bait at 6-12 ft. along flats, shorelines and in the main lake. Texoma: August 15. Elevation below normal, water 84 and stained. Striped and white bass slow on live shad at 25-30 ft. below the dam and along the river channel. Wister: August 14. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass slow on spinnerbaits and topwater lures at 4-15 ft. around brush structure early and late. Crappie slow on jigs at 15-25 ft. around brush structure early and late. Blue catfish fair on cut bait at 12-20 ft. along channels. SOUTHWEST

Ellsworth: August 14. Elevation normal, water 83 and murky. Channel and blue catfish slow on cut bait, shad and punch bait in the main lake and around points. Ft. Cobb: August 15. Elevation normal, water 86. Striped bass hybrids and white bass slow on live shad in the main lake and around points. Saugeye slow on worms and jigs around points and weed beds. Report submitted by John Grellner, game warden stationed in Caddo County.
